CMCS, TVE sign deal to promote global film contest
Centre for Media and Communication Studies (CMCS) signed a contract with the TVE, a London-based international organization, on October 4, 2011 to promote its tvebiomovies 2011 global film competition. CMCS Chairman Sohel Manzur and TVE Executive Director Cheryl Campbell signed the deal on behalf of their respective organizations. The agreement covers the promotion of the competition through media networks, social networking sites, and relevant contacts within Bangladesh and elsewhere. The final deadline for entries to the competition is 21 October 2011. More

AMARC training forum for CR broadcasters ends
The First AMARC Asia Pacific Community Radio Training Forum for Enhancing Capacities of Community Broadcasters was held from 11 to 13 December 2011 in Bangkok, Thailand. Supinya Klagnarong, Commissioner of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission of Thailand (NBTC) inaugurated the Forum amidst a gathering of regulators, trainers and broadcasters from 25 countries of Asia Pacific and other parts of the world. 10 tvebiomovies 2011 finalists go live on YouTube
Ten finalists films about the environment went live on November 30, 2011 as the tvebiomovies 2011 competition gears up on YouTube. Out of more than 200 entries sent in by filmmakers across the world, the judging panel last month green-lighted 10 ideas – film and animation – to go into production. Now it’s over to the global public to decide who the tvebiomovies 2011 victors will be – with the five most viewed films winning this year’s competition, said a press release by the TVE, a partner of CMCS.
