Film on turning information into action to be screened on 11 Feb’10

Centre for Media and Communication Studies (CMCS) is going to host the screening of a film on “10 Tactics for Turning Information into Action” on 11 February, 2010 (Thursday) at 10 am at the Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU).

The film, produced by Tactical Technology Collective, an international NGO, provides original and artful ways for rights advocates to capture attention and communicate a cause. The 50-minute film, which documents inspiring info-activism stories from around the world, is targeted towards rights advocates, NGOs, activists, bloggers, citizen journalists and independent media.

Besides the screening of the film, there will be demonstration of a set of cards, with tools tips and advice, for information activists to work through as they plan their own info-activism.

There will also be an interactive session to be attended by media personnel, communication experts and civil society representatives.

This will be a great opportunity for the people who work in the media, information and advocacy departments of different organizations to learn how best the media and communication tools can be used to attain their institutional objectives. Please contact us at contact@cmcsbd.org for registration if you are interested to attend the program.
