CMCS, Innovision sign deal to promote balanced fertilizer use

Centre for Media and Communication Studies (CMCS) Tuesday (9 November, 2010) signed a contract with Innovision Consulting Private Limited for developing media and communication tools to raise awareness among farmers about the use of balanced fertilizer.

Innovision Chairman Sadruddin Imran and CMCS Chairman Sohel Manzur signed the contract on behalf of their respective institutions.

Under the deal, CMCS is to sensitize media people and institutions to highlight issues related to use of fertilizer in the media, besides developing media and communication tools targeting farmers, dealers of fertilizers and agriculture officials working at the field level.

CMCS will also organize workshop, seminar and field trips for journalists from both print and broadcast media to increase knowledge and awareness about the issue.

Under the five-month agreement, which ends in April 2011, CMCS will also use new media tools for dissemination of information related to use of compost and micronutrients among the farmers.
